Making Early-Stage Research Discoverable

Making Early-Stage Research Discoverable

Morressier is a SaaS platform for the early-stage-research. It supports the entire conference lifecycle — from abstract submission to publishing. Over time, it had collected a vast amount of early-stage research shared at academic events worldwide.

Until 2023, this content was only accessible through private conference pages.

The Opportunity

Researchers, institutions, and the public couldn’t explore or benefit from this early-stage content unless they had a direct event link.

We saw an opportunity to:

  • Open up access to this valuable research

  • Provide a discovery experience that helped users explore content by topic, author, or event

  • Increase visibility for researchers and organizers

What We Built

We designed and launched the first public-facing experience to explore early-stage research on the platform. Key components included:

  • A search and filtering system to help users find relevant research by topic, event, author, or organization.

  • Verified researcher profiles with affiliation metadata, building trust and highlighting expertise.

  • A new homepage showcasing featured events, the latest research, and a personalized sidebar with quick access to upcoming events and recently viewed content.

  • Event landing pages that contextualize research within specific conferences.

  • Modular UI cards for events, research outputs, and calls for abstracts/papers, designed for consistency across varied content and metadata states.
